The towers were in military terms called (FCT) Fire Control Towers they were the eyes of the Fort  they use what the military called M1 Depression Range Finder for range of an enemy vessel  and M1910A1 Azimuth Range Finder to determine the horizontal angle they use these with a Measurement called triangulation. triangulation: is the process of determining the location of a point by measuring angles to it from known points at either end of a fixed baseline, rather than measuring distances to the point directly. The point can then be fixed as the third point of a triangle with one known side and two known angles. This gives them the information  to give to the Fort so they know were to aim to fire the guns (see diagram below)

  Tower 12  
                       
     

Tower 12 is down the road to the old light house before you get to Slaughters Beach Tower 12 had two range finders and two azimuths as follows: top deck had 1-M1 Depression Range Finder and 1- M1910A1 Azimuth for Battery Hall bottom deck had 1- M1 Depression Range Finder and 1-  M1910A1 Azimuth for Haslet
Tower 12 use to sit were the Cedar Beach marina an Cedar Beach Bait An Tackle are Tower 12 was the Command tower for the other Four Towers


  Tower 14  
     
 

Tower 14 is North of the Fort on what is known as the Thompsonville Rd (AKA) Milford Neck Rd just off Rt 1 you go all the way down Milford Neck Rd till you almost get to South Bowers you will go over a very small bridge as soon as your over the bridge you will see were there is a dirt road straight off the main road that is were Tower 14 use to be it was on the left side it was either torn down or fell down can't confirm tower 14 had 4  M1910A1 Azimuth Range Finder's top deck had 2- M1910A1 Azimuth for battery Hall bottom deck had 2-M1910A1 Azimuth for battery Haslet

 

 
 
Tower 13
 
   
  Tower 13 is also north of the Fort go down the Thompsonville Rd till you get tot the South Bowers Fire house make a right go down that road to you come to your first intersection make a left on Rd 124 follow that road till you get to Big Stone Beach as soon as you get to the end of Big Stone Beach Rd look to your right you will see the tower it is the last remaining Tower of Fort Saulsbury it is enclosed with a fence so you can not go inside at 70 years old I don't think you would want to tower 13 had 4- M1910A1 Azimuth top deck had 2-M1910A1 Azimuth for battery Hall bottom deck had 2- M1910A1 Azimuth for battery Haslet   
 
Tower 10
 
   
  Tower 10 is south of the Fort go down Rt 1 south till you get to what is known as Argo's Corner make a left on to the Argo's Corner Rd go down it toward Slaughter Beach  till you come to your first right turn there and go on till you come to a stop sign make a left there that is the Fowlers Beach Rd  go all the way down till you get to the beach please be careful if you have never been down this road it is very very curvy once there walk out on the beach and look to your right an you can see what is left of the base that held the tower and the cable hut tower 10 had 4- M1910A1 Azimuth top deck had 2-M1910A1 Azimuth for battery Haslet middle deck had 2-M1910A1 Azimuth for battery Hall

Tower 9
 
   
  Tower 9 is south of Fort Saulsbury as well go South on Rt 1 Till you get to the intersection of Rt 1 and Rt 16 in Milton Turn left on to Broad Kill Rd go all they way to Broad Kill Beach then make a right on to  Bay Shore Dr to follow on till you get to Madison Ave  the cable hut will be on your right but it is on private property the tower was across the street on the beach side but it was turn down to build beach houses tower 9 had 4- M1910A1 Azimuth top deck had 2- M1910A1 Azimuth for battery Haslet middle deck had 2- M1910A1 Azimuth for battery Hall
